Sep - Dec Term

We are now starting registrations for the September term at Garyduff Sports Centre. A non-refundable deposit of €50 per student will be required to secure their place. The remainder of the term fee is due by August 18th. Please note this term will be longer than usual as it is 4 months long. All current students will be offered a place but must re-register via the form at the bottom of this page.

As we had many requests from parents, Sensei Fernando and I are currently developing a program to include a section on our website with videos on how to support your child in Karate. This will include videos on how to train with them at home, help them prepare for the grading exams, develop their physical coordination, body awareness and motor skills. We will develop this project during the summer and hopefully be able to release this resource very soon.

We have a waiting list for our classes so, if your child will not be joining us for the new term, I kindly as you to please inform us as soon as possible so the spot can be offered to those on our waiting list.

● Karate is a physical activity that carries inherent risk, and may be dangerous to myself or others.

● Karate is a combat, contact sport where students will be engaging in contact sparring.

● FH Karate Team has safety procedures in place to ensure the risks are managed.

● Students must bring their own equipment to each class and wear them during training. When protective equipment has become damaged or worn, it must be replaced.

● While protective equipment such as gloves, shin guards, chest guards, helmets and gum shields assist in reducing the risk of injury, it does not eliminate the risk entirely.

● In order to ensure the student's safety, glasses must be removed during sparring sessions which includes sparring drills also. Nails must be kept short and long hair must be tied. No jewellery should be worn during class. Students must train barefoot, socks are not allowed as they can be slippery.

● I will inform FH Karate Team of injuries or relevant medical history.

● We are required by ONAKAI, the National Governing Body for Karate in Ireland, to share the students details with ONAKAI.

● I take responsibility to follow all instructions given for use of equipment and implementation of safety measures. I agree to abide by the rules adopted by the Dojo, including safety rules as they may be amended from time to time. I acknowledge that my child's membership may be revoked for violation of any safety rules.
